By Lewis Caroll, 1865

"And how many hours a day did you do lessons?' said Alice, in a hurry to change the subject.
Ten hours the first day,' said the Mock Turtle: 'nine the next, and so on.'
What a curious plan!' exclaimed Alice.
That's the reason they're called lessons,' the Gryphon remarked: 'because they lessen from day to day."
A short summary…
Alice sees a rabbit, follows it and finally finds herself transported in a world of wonders.
My opinion…
A well-known book to serve as a first article of this new blog. Here is my opinion :
1. Poor Alice is immersed in a world of absurd and non-sense. This short novel is a collection of paradoxes and riddles. For example, the lessons that lessens every day, so that the last day would be a holiday. How about the day after? Very fun but also wise in a certain aspect. I remember starting the book as a child but not being able to finish it due to the complexity. As of now, it is much easier.
2. A very popular book that was adapted many times. You certainly know Disney’s animation from 1951 which I watched several times in my childhood. More recently, I came across “Dreamchild” (Dennis Potter, 1985) which focuses on the “dark” aspect of the story and erase all the fun. In this film, Wonderland is a much more troubling and frightening land. It is not a dream, it is a nightmare.
3. Nothing more to say! Stay tuned for what comes next ;)
