Footfall

"Footfall" is a science fiction novel by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle, depicting an alien invasion of Earth by a race of elephant-like beings, focusing on humanity's efforts to resist and survive the attack.

I'll be short today: not bad! Impressive warriors with an impressive backstory. But most of the parts were kind of boring... I'll skip most of the book until the very end.

Good to note that it seems to be the inspiration for the "Worldwar" series by Turtledove, another alien invasion novel.
